Silk caps aka Silk Bells are made from silk cocoons that have been degummed and stretched open to dry over a  special frame.  Each cap is made from hundreds of cocoons.  Silk caps are not only used for spinning, they can also be used in silk paper making and you can knit with them unspun.  They're also fun and easy to dye.

Each cap weighs approx. 7/8 ounce.
